McLaren Bike Park Grand Opening

Since 2008, The McLaren Bike Park Founders have been working with The San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department, SF Parks Alliance, SF Urban Riders, Alpine Bike Parks, and many other community groups, to bring the first bike park to San Francisco. McLaren Bike Park opened on October 21, 2017.

A bike park built to honor the legacy of one of Nanaimo’s most legendary people and World Cup DH winner - Stevie Smith. The Stevie Smith Bike Park design encompasses an array of jump lines ranging from beginner to expert including a pumptrack and skills park. Alpine worked with the City of Nanaimo and the Stevie Smith Legacy Foundation to ensure the creation of a world-class facility.
The Slabs Downhill Mountain Bike Course- Opening Day- Woodward Tahoe

On Monday, July 10 Woodward Tahoe opened "The Slabs", our new lift-serviced mountain Bike Park. The new mountain bike park attracted campers ages 7-17 along with professional riders like Jake Kinney and Greg Watts to rip the new dirt lines. All in all, this has been our biggest week of camp ever and the energy is at an all-time high.

"Riding this trail is unreal," says Bas van Steenbergen, mastermind of the Rhythm course and project. Created exclusively for filming Rhythm, this super trail won't be open to the public until Big White begins bike park operations in Spring 2017 — but you can take a pre-run right now.

Rhythm is the ultimate mountain bike jump trail with winding, massive berms that hip and twist down Kelowna, B.C.'s Big White mountain in an epic, high-speed run. The trail used in Rhythm will be open to the public when Big White begins bike park operations in Spring 2017 — just look for its official name, "The Joker" trail, on the trail map.

The Ruby Hill Bike Park is one of the largest municipal bike park in North America. The park incorporates a 2+ mile long loop trail, pumptrack, flow trail zone, skill development zone, drop zone, 4 slopestyle lines and a dirt jump zone to round out the park.

With this opportunity Alpine applies event operations, management, and facilitation primarily into the Ride Zone and Airbag Zone, where Sea Otter participants test ride bicycles and practice their skills. In collaboration with FlowForm Bike Ramps, Alpine is able to provide a variety of features that cater to a multi-generational group of users targeting skill progression.

The goal of Alpine Bike Parks was to design and construct a selection of trails and associated landscape areas that connect buildings and bring the corporate Specialized headquarter community together on their bikes. Some of the trails are XC/CX oriented with natural surfacing, while others are paved and deliver pump track flow. Sections of the trails are surfaced with asphalt so that they can be precisely sculpted, plus be rideable year-round with minimal maintenance.

The McLaren Bike Park will be the first purposed bicycle recreation facility in the City of San Francisco and will include a network of interpretive family cycling trails, short course downhill trails, and BMX/MTB terrain parks including pump tracks, sessions zones, and slopestyle; as well as passive rest areas and a grassy expo areas for events and gatherings.

Alpine Bike Parks designed and built The Gage Bike Park Pumptrack incorporating a small beginner pumptrack and a more advanced intermediate pumptrack design. The pumptrack caters to inner city youth and is a great example of what these types of project can produce. Within the first week of the parks use, Eco-Counters tallied up 47,000 tires rolling over the pumptrack. The pumptrack is constructed of dirt and the pilot project will be assessed to determine the potential future implementation of other pumptracks in the city of Hamilton, Ontario.
